Sammie Roto 2 Fork

Sammie Roto 2 on GitHub

I forked Sammie-roto-2 and pushed some code to make all of it work on OSX. Recently I also added LTX2.5 Gen Alpha as an matting option to it.

And of course some more goodies like EXR image format and tileable renders with low VRAM:

  • Added a configurable memory budget with tiled VideoMaMa processing on MPS and CUDA
  • Optional automatic matting export.
  • Refactored matting, segmentation, and object removal into self-contained engines. * Switched image loading and processing to OpenImageIO and NumPy, adding EXR and other supported image formats, multilayer EXR export
  • Updated shortcuts: F to fit, H for 100% zoom, and Left/Right arrows to change frames.

This probably will be a separated fork and won't go back to the original repo, because I completely refactored the code so every engine (SAM2, Matanyone, VideoMaMa, etc) is a self contained module that can be easily removed or added in the future.

Install Beeble on Ubuntu

19 December 2025AI/ML

Although Rocky Linux is the officially recommended platform, running Beeble Studio locally on Ubuntu is possible.

You just need to convert the installation package. For Ubuntu 20.04:

sudo apt-get install alien
#downgrade cpio (otherwise it throws an error)
sudo apt-get install -y --allow-downgrades cpio=2.13+dfsg-2
sudo alien beeblestudio-x86_64.rpm --scripts
sudo apt install ./beeblestudio_0.4.15-2_amd64.deb

Then follow the Beeble installation steps: download the assets, authenticate, and run it.

This project was a little different from the work I usually do. The band’s 50th-anniversary live show featured visuals for every song, and I worked on the classic “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner,” a 13 minute piece (!!!). My role was to transform the concept line art from the storyboard and animatic into illustrations using generative AI. It was an interesting process: the final images needed to remain faithful to the original concepts while matching the visual style the band wanted. The artwork also had to be delivered in layers so another team could animate it later. In total, I generated more than 80 images over two months of work.

As a fan of the band, creating visuals (even Eddie) to the show was an incredible experience.

There's no official video online yet, but it's possible to see some of the work recorded by fans on Youtube from the live show:
