OpenRV for OSX Tahoe Build
This build feels a little like finding a unicorn. If you have ever tried to build OpenRV on macOS, you know how painful it can be.

This version is built for the 2024 specification, specifically for Tahoe.
I previously built OpenRV successfully for Mavericks, Catalina, and Sequoia, and used the Sequoia build until 2025. Around December 2025, I finally had a production break (repeat with me: never, never, never upgrade a working pipeline in the middle of active projects) and moved to Tahoe. I did not want to, but the modern MPS acceleration I needed for AI and ComfyUI required it. Tahoe’s Liquid Glass UI performance is not great, but it is what it is.
In December 2025, I spent about a week trying to compile OpenRV in my spare time. Even with Claude’s help, I could not make it work; dependency after dependency kept breaking. I switched to XStudio for a while because it is much easier to build, but I eventually found its 4K and 6K playback performance had distracting stuttering and refresh-rate issues.
If you are on Tahoe and would like to try this build, let me know.
